Branton Olfert, known professionally as B.Michaael, is a Vancouver-based composer, producer, and sound artist whose work explores the intersection of synthetic and organic worlds through immersive, multi-layered soundscapes. His approach, shaped by early ambient music, high fantasy, and media themes of conflict and place, showcases a mastery over expressive MIDI and detailed sound collages that bridge ambient passages and intense sonic textures. His latest album, Gore, channels a synaptic new age style, blending verdant synthesis, environmental textures, and intricate sound design to create compositions that feel lush, playful, and emotionally evocative.
